FISSURE BLADE
A short boss rush with dash & slash combat. Made in PICO 8 by Abhi Sundu.
The combat takes heavy inspiration from Hyper Light Drifter.
Controls

There's also an "easy mode" that can be enabled in the pause menu. Easy mode increases player damage by 50% and decreases boss damage by 50%.

I thought the controls would be complicated at first, but I was surprised at how quickly I got used to both dodging and attacking, and it was really fun to fight while focusing on the boss’s moves!
Each boss is pretty tough, but once you learn to read their attacks, you can stay in longer to deal more damage, and that makes it even more fun.
It was a great gameplay experience! (=ↀωↀ=)

idk if this is a bug but in the final boss fight you can attack his shadow :v great game tho

Great boss design as always and cool presentation overall. Always love a good " rival " fight at the end lol.
I'm not sure if this is a bug or not, but I was able to hit the first boss while he was underground. Also the second boss while it was in the state where it was moving around.
I also thought the way dodging was done felt a little weird, but then I realised that it's something like how FURi does it's dodge. That said, I felt like maybe the amount of damage you do could've been increased a little. Felt a little too small at times
Either way, solid combat system and very solid game here

The dodge is definitely a little unresponsive because it’s dodge on “release” rather than on press, bit of a limitation for sure. Thank you for the feedback on player damage as well!

What a great little game! I did get much use out of the shooting ability but I made use of all the other mechanics. Just the right difficulty too and I enjoyed the story. Great job!
